An interesting Friday...

1) Cafe Iguana

2) The Clinic

Oh boy! What a day! I reached home feeling really amused.. heh. Those 2 places are places i would never visit
1) for the main dishes
2) for the drinks and 'seats'

HAHA. We had a farewell dinner for the pretty Jasmeet-turned-Jassie colleague of mine. She was leaving EY Spore for good and will be migrating to NZ in a few weeks time. I was considerably one of the closer A2s to her and thus was invited to the dinner. Not that i minded it. In fact, i was honoured and glad to be part of the group. So we booked a spot at Cafe Iguana, Riverside Point. Nice ambience, nice waitresses and cheap drinks before 930. Everything great but the food. To be specific, the food i ordered. Chorizo Tamales: Corn packets stuffed with spicy sausage and quesco fresco $18.99. Sounds yummy? I thought so. Never judge a dish by its ingredients. I read corn, sausage and i thought it was gonna be a great dish. BUT it turned out to be a total disappointment. It came with rice and BLACK BEANS (which i hate!), and MASHED corn that's BAKED into a cake like thingy with MINCED sausage inside it. It looked and tasted unusually yucky. Fortunately it came with a sauce. I barely finished half of it. Alvin took a bite and said he'd never order it. Edwina took a spoonful and immediately emptied it into a tissue. I must haf had a great level of tolerance for that kind of 'food'. HAH! Only the mango margarita was good. Oh there were remainder NDP fireworks there BTW.

After this, i went to meet Brenda and Yanru at Fishermen's Wharf opp Central. Calamari is good! Well, we had intended it to be a gal's night out.. turned out Yanru invited her boyboy along. Hmm.. it was kinda awkward.. but im glad i had Brenda with me! Heh. We didnt know where to go so we thought to just walk ard and look see look see. Who knows the boyboy suggested going to this place called The Clinic. Erm.. I haf no idea why anyone wld come up with such a name, and such a decor. Morbid, warped decor.
We had to almost sit on wheelchairs! Ended up we sat on some hospital-like sofa.. those grey kinds with metal frames. A blood packet was hung on top.. Gross! And the display outside showed an mortuary.. bed and compartments where dead pple were stored. I cant imagine why pple would wanna patronise such a place. Its so creepy.. bloody images are building up in my head as i am describing it now. Doctors sewing up the patients severed leg with wires, nurses jabbing needles into patients faces, blood spewing everywhere.... Ugh. Allright allright..i shant go on. But one thing, it wasnt complete..cos the waitresses should haf been dressed up like nurses or something.. not just plain black attire. Boo...! Anyway, we caught some circus acts and yet another bout of fireworks! (which cant really be seen.. oops!)

After a 'fun' night out, we headed home right before our last trains and buses left. Phew! I had decided that i probably wouldnt wanna step into Clarke Quay for a while. Brings back nightmares.. LOL.
