What a day! I'm both tired, yet contented. I had made plans for today, to eat my Olio Dome choc brownie on hot plate...to go cycling in the morning...but the day passed without fulfilling either of those 2. Sigh. I was really excited to try out the special brownie today ever since my mum told me abt it on Sunday. It supposedly has hardened ice cream layers embedded in between the brownie, and is served on a hot plate. Hot fudge and nuts are poured over the brownie when served. Yummy ain't it? I cant wait to try it some time SOON. We actually walked to 2 Domes in Orchard.. one at Paragon and the other at Shawhouse. Both dont serve the dessert i craved so badly. So i had to settle for not even 2nd best, or third. There was a long queue at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao.. which was next on the list. So we had to go look for Tatty's Oko----yaki (okonomiyaki). BUT, there wasnt such a dish in Taka.. and since our tummies were ranting and raving, we settled for one of the stations at Taka food hall. OMU RICE!

Later, we mouth itchy and went to get some "drink" from Dairy Queen. Well, its not exactly a drink, altho i foolishly thought it was.
Strawberry almond! mmm.. sounded good to me. I was thirsty, by the way. So i told Tatty, lets haf a LARGE. POP! LARGE was HUGE!!!!! I was horrified. How could we down such an awful lot of ice cream? Calories, calories, calories. Fats, fats, fats. Aiyo. I think i put on 1kg of weight today. A national day gift to me huh. Bleh.
Then we headed over to my office to meet Terence and Elaine. Loads of people were streaming to the grass patch opposite my building. From the top, they looked like ants. OK, so i exaggerated. So what? Brenda, you must haf been one of them! Wahahaha! We shared the meeting room on the 12th floor with a partner and his family, and my Jaya manager plus some other pple. It was pretty boring at first. But the jelly fish started to float by followed by the 5min long firework session. And we all had a great view of it. I took some videos.. but they're with Tatty. Ill upload them soon, i hope. But here's a pic of .. erm.. the failed pyrotechnics display shot from One Raffles Quay, the office building im so proud of! See the smoke! Keke.
Later on, we made our way down to Suntec in bus number 10 from Fullerton. I think taking the train should haf been much faster. The bus inched its way through to Raffles City first, then to Nicoll Highway. It took half and hr just for a what ought to be a 10min ride. My legs were practically giving up on me. What's more, the bus driver refused to bend the rules and stop outside the bustop at fullerton and waited for the front buses to leave the stop before he opened the door right at the middle of the busstop. Lemme tell ya, there were so many angry pple.. 2 of whom banged at the hind door and window. One is a small boy, of no less than Pri. 6. Scary! They must haf gave the driver a dressing down when they boarded the bus. Altho rules state that drviers cant stop outside the bus stop, i think he still made a mistake then. Coz pple accumulated and when he finally stopped to open the door, everyone squeezed in.. like opening the dams to flood waters.. KS Singaporeans, you say?
We managed to reach Suntec before collapsing of hunger (for elaine) and legs (for moi). And guess wat!??!! We ate at lamianxiaolongbao! Whee! I was so happy! So the day ended with good food and company. Cabbed back.. after walking for so long to Swissotel. Bundles of people everywhere! Was a great National Day experience.. also been quite emotional at one point of time. Shall speak more of it in my next post. Sleepy. Nites!
